Psalm 8:13, 14

"Lord, I could use You to help me through this season right now."

Why don't I always feel the presence of God?

Psalm 88:13-14 "But I cry to You for help, O Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before You. Why, O Lord, do You reject me and hide Your face from me?"

1. Maybe you are being over sensational aboutthe presence of God.

Sometimes God is not sensational; but He's quiet, gentle, and loving.

2. Maybe you’re distracted.

Luke 10:38-40 "As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, Lord, don't You care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!'"

Jesus was right there in her presence, and she missed the moment of His presence.

You can be neck deep in the work of God and sometimes miss the presence of God.

3. Maybe your heart has hardened.

Matthew 13:14-15 "In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people's hearts have become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them."

Let me suggest to you that anytime you want to be hurt anywhere, church or not, you can be.

4. Maybe you’ve built a wall of sin.

Isaiah 59:1-2 "Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the Lord; Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn; look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him, he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many."

"Your sins have cut you off from God answering your prayer."

That's the most dangerous place in the world to be.

5. You don’t know God.

John 7:28-29 "Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, ‘Yes, you know Me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on My own, but He who sent Me is true. You do not know Him, but I know Him because I am from Him, and He sent Me."

If you want to know God, decide to embrace Him.

You know Him, not only from your head, but most importantly, from your heart.

Get into worship by listening to Christian songs that exalt the Name of the Lord.

Turn your antenna toward Him.

You can live life with God's presence in you.

John 14:16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever."

Lean on the presence of God.

Being in church and serving God is not a pastime relationship.

God is either on or He's off; He's never lukewarm.

Acts 17:24 "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands."

Acts 17:27 "God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him though He is not far from each one of us."

But if you seek Him and you strive to live for Him, you'll have a life that will have an eternal reward.
