Gal 5:22
Galatians 5:22 "The fruit of the Spirit is…peace…"
Proverbs 14:30 “A heart at peace gives life to the body.”
Some people are pros at stress.
1. Spiritual peace.
Romans 5:1 “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2. Emotional peace.
You get peace with God, and then you get peace from God.
Colossians 3:15 "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts since you were called to peace."
It means “let the peace of God be the umpire of your life.”
3. Relational peace.
Romans 12:18 “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everybody.”
John 14:27 “I leave with you peace. I give you My own peace and My gift is nothing like the peace of this world. Do not be distressed or daunted.”
God’s peace is not related to circumstances.
#1. Obey God’s principles.
Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have they who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble. I obey Your statutes, for I love them greatly.”
If you don’t obey them, you will not be at peace.
#2. Accept God’s pardon.
Micah 7:18 “Who is a God like You who pardons sin and forgives transgressions. You do not stay angry forever, but delight to show mercy.”
Guilt is the number one destroyer of peace in a person’s life.
#3. Focus on God’s presence.
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is steadfast on You.”
“You look at the world and you’ll be distressed, you look within, and you’ll be depressed. You look at Christ, and you’ll be at rest.”
Psalm 46:1, 10 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Be still and know that I am God.”
Be still.
"Most of man's problems come from his inability to sit still."
Listen
#4. Trust God’s purpose.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”
Trust
Lean not
Not all your questions are going to be answered in this life.
A cknowledge
Acknowledge that God does not make mistakes.
Direct - Ask for God's peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 (LB) “Don’t worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything. Tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.”
John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God – trust also in Me.”
He will give you the peace that passes all understanding.
