Galatians 5:22

"They've been faithfully serving here for 25 years."

It means reliable, trustworthy, dependable, and consistent.

Psalm 33:4 “He is faithful in all His ways.”

Proverbs 25:19 “Like a bad tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble.”

Old Faithful.

Matthew 25:14 “God will reward faithfulness.”

“The faithful man will be richly blessed.”

1. Keep your promises.

Proverbs 25:14 “Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give.”

"We'll do it later."

The number one cause of resentment is broken promises.

Ecclesiastes 5:5 “It is better not to vow at all than to make a vow and not fulfill it.”

2. Honor your marriage.

Hebrews 13:4(GN) “Marriage should be honored by all, and husbands and wives must be faithful to each other.”

"When you love somebody, they can count on you."

3. Use your talents.

1 Peter 4:10 “Each should use whatever spiritual gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

When someone invests, they expect a return on that investment.

We are to let our faithfulness, through the use of our gift, bring glory and honor to God.

4. Make the most of your time.

Ephesians 5:15-16 (PH) "Live life then with a due sense of responsibility, not as people who don't know the meaning of life, but as those who do. Make the best use of your time."

  1. Spend it.
  2. Waste it.
  3. Invest it.

To be a faithful person, you’re going to have to give up what I call “when” and “then.”

5. Stand by your friends.

Proverbs 17:17 (LB) “A true friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in a time of need.”

When the going gets tough, a friend does not desert you.

6. Manage your money.

Luke 16:11 “If you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?”

If......

7. Do your best at work.

Luke 16:10,12 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. And if you have not been faithful with someone else’s property, who will give you your own?”

Life is largely composed of small things.

The other test is how you handle what is not yours.

8. Commit yourself to the church.

Romans 12:5 “So in Christ we who are many form one body and each member belongs to all the others.”

If you're going to be in a spiritual battle, you're going to need support.

There's no such thing as a lone ranger Christian with God's approval.

"By this shall all men know that you are My disciple by the way that you love one another."

God honors faithfulness.
