Jude 17-23
"Where Faith and Life Connect."
He was one of the late believers and followers of Jesus.
#1. Hell is a real place.
"...snatch others from the fire and save them..."
It seems that hell isn’t as hot as it used to be.
A U.S. News & World Report poll revealed that 64% of Americans believe there is a hell; 25% say there isn’t a hell, and 9% don’t know.
“Does irreparable damage to our deepest comforts – our understanding of God’s grace and love…to preach the good news, we must preach the bad.”
“If there is no God, no heaven, no hell, there simply is no persuasive reason to be moral.”
The devil is real, and hell is real, whether anyone believes it or not.
Matthew 7:23 "Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!'"
Matthew 8:12 (NIV) "But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness."
Matthew 13:42 (NIV) "They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Hell is a place of consciousness.
Hell is a place of torment.
Hell is a place of darkness.
Hell separates loved ones.
Hell is everlasting.
Hell burns but does not destroy.
Do you believe in a literal hell?
If there is no hell, then we don’t need you.
If there is hell, we don’t want you to lead us astray.
#2. The end is near.
John 4:35 (NIV) "Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest?' I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest."
"Lift up your head, the harvest is ready now."
1 Corinthians 9:22 (NIV) "To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some."
Proverbs 10:5 (NIV) "He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son."
Isaiah 62:1 (NIV) "For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch."
#3. You are someone's hope.
Matthew 4:19 (NIV) "Come, follow Me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.'"
We can make a difference because you are someone's hope.
1. Live the life boldly every day.
2. Work in your field of influence.
3. Present your specific requests to God daily.
4. Plant seeds of good deeds.
5. Be sensitive to the urging of the Spirit.
6. With faith, stay absolutely focused.
1 Peter 3:15 (NIV) "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."
