Matthew 6:19-21
#1 . Are you invested in God’s church?
I would say that you are deeply invested.
Showing a deep commitment to its values and beliefs.
“Be careful that you don’t invest in things that pass away, that have no life, that offer you nothing relating to eternity.”
Matthew 6:19 “Be certain to be a person who pours out and not one who stores up.”
Matthew 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.”
#2. God has created us to pour out and not store up.
“I wouldn’t have made it if it hadn’t been for that person.”
Invest in someone.
Because we’re invested in it.
We must not have a scarcity mind set as believers.
There can be an unlimited supply of pie.
Luke 12:16 “And He told them this parable: ‘The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’”
#3. God has called us to have a mind set of abundance of generosity .
Ecclesiastes 2:11 “Yet when I surveyed what all my hands had done, and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, chasing after the wind. Nothing was gained under the sun.”
It’s when you give out of yourself to invest in His church, in His Kingdom.
“I worked my hands to the bone, and at the end of the day, when I reviewed what I had, I realized everything was meaningless because none of it was invested in eternal things for God.”
“This story will be told of her beautiful, sacrificial, extravagant moment of worship for generations to come.”
What you have in your hands today is the result of God’s supernatural favor.
“They need something to eat.”
Luke 9:17 “They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up 12 basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.”
Are you invested because you know the One who is the author and finisher of our faith and the giver of blessings?
#4. We give through the church.
Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house.”
“Not My will, but the will of the Father that I desire to do.”
“I tried it my way. I toiled, worked hard, and used my knowledge and wisdom, but at the end of the day, I realized that nothing mattered except having the favor and blessing of the God of my father, David.”
To whom much is given, much is required.
