1. You can live with a sense of certainty.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)
It's not a question of if God will get you through a difficult
situation, it's a question of how.
2. You can live with a sense of Optimism.
He will finish what he started.
David also says mercy will follow me.
He understands that the process of growing up and the process
of becoming good is a never ending process.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
Living with hope means that you have a sense of optimism about yourself, about your life, and about the future.
3. You can live with a sense of favor.
Every square inch on which you place your foot will be yours. Your borders will stretch from the wilderness to the mountains of Lebanon, from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. No one will be able to stand in your way...(Deuteronomy 11:24-25 The Message)
"I will bless you. I will give you victory. And nothing can stand in your way."
He gives you favor because you have chosen to love him more than anything else.
Hope can be defined with the word expectation.
1. Finish memorizing all of Psalm 23
1) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
2. Write down three "good and merciful" things that followed you.
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. (Isaiah 40:11)
If you will put yourself in his care, your life can be blessed beyond words.
