• THOU PREPAREST A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE
PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES.
The image of a shepherd caring for his sheep.........
The image of God preparing a banquet for his people.
The problem is that many people equate the Christian life with
the airline food menu, not the luxurious banquet.
If you stay close to the shepherd, the enemy can't get near you.
We need to learn to focus on the feast, and enjoy the feast,
instead of looking at the enemy.
We need to learn to enjoy the blessings of God in this moment,
instead of obsessing over every potential problem.
I'm not going to let my fear of the unknown prevent me from experiencing joy in my walk with God today.
• THOU ANOINTEST MY HEAD WITH OIL
The Holy Spirit gives us enough peace and joy that we just don't need to get stressed out about every little inconvenience.
"...wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart." (Psalm 104:15)
Our Lord gives us everything we could need and more.
"Now to him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to power that works within us." (Ephesians 3:20).
• MY CUP RUNNETH OVER
There are probably a couple of areas of your life in which the cup isn't quite full.
Don't get in the habit of defining your life according to what you don't have.
"I know the psalm, but he knows the Shepherd."
1. Memorize verse five.
2. Yield to the Holy Spirit.
3. Make a "cup-runneth-over" list.
The biggest mistake we can make is to measure abundance merely in terms of money and the things it can buy.
The more you focus on the abundance in your life, the more abundance comes your way.
