Psalm 23:4

YEA, THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY

"Though I walk through the valley ..."

You will, in fact, walk through the valley of the shadow at

various times in your life.

It's because valleys are simply part of the journey.

When you're walking with the shepherd, the dark valley always leads to higher ground.

"How am I going to make it until then?"

"How, then, should I respond?"

But you can let God use this valley to lead you to higher

ground in your personal life.

Shadows are always bigger than the reality.

Our fear of the problem is always greater than the

problem itself.

Shadows cannot hurt you.

Shadows are an image without substance.

There's no shadow without a light somewhere.

I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: FOR THOU ART WITH ME

"Do not be afraid. Only believe."

Herein lies a secret to getting through the valley: Get personal in your relationship to God.

THY ROD AND THY STAFF THEY COMFORT ME

The rod was used for correction, examination, and protection.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)

"When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth." (John 16:13 NIV)

As one of God's sheep, you can be sure that his rod and staff -- the Word of God and the Spirit of God -- will comfort you in your journey.

The Word will examine your heart and the Spirit will convict

you and draw you close to Jesus.

1. Memorize verse four.

2. Get personal with God.
