1 Corinthians 6:1-20
"Church Gone Wild"
There's no such thing as consequence-free behavior.
You're better than this.
• Who You Were Back Then.
We all have a past.
• Who You Are Today.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
It must never be misconstrued to mean that we are free to sin without consequence.
• Who You Will Someday Be.
God has future plans greater than we can imagine.
He is challenging us to be mindful of that day as we live this day.
To become today the person we will someday be.
Build your life around the person you will someday be.

1. I will do what’s right, even if it means I get wronged.
  • Maybe we could just decide to let things go.
  • A good man would rather be wronged than do wrong.
2. I will do what I know is best, not merely what appears to be permissible.
  • But that doesn't mean they're helpful.
  • It's a matter of that which is beneficial and that which is not.
  • Sin brings about its own misery and its own punishment, every time.
  • The wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.
  • (Proverbs 11:5)
  • It never works in your favor.
3. I will do that which doesn’t come easy in order to bring glory to God.
  • "I will not be mastered by anything."
  • Is that each of these actions will ultimately make you their slave,
  • Our physical desires weren't meant to be recklessly indulged.
  • This means that we're willing to do that which doesn't come easy in order to bring glory to God.
  • "If you are not in the process of becoming the person you want to be, you are automatically engaged in becoming the person you don't want to be."
  • God is calling us to leave behind — forever — that person we used to be.
  • Let's be the person who will do what's best, not just what appears to be permissible.
